CM Hamza and PPP delegation talk about forming a provincial cabinet

On Saturday, a team from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) met with Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Hamza Shhebaz Sharif at his Model Town mansion in Lahore.

PPP delegation consisting of National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, former prime minister, and Senator Yousuf Raza Gillani, and MPAs Ali Haider Gillani and Hassan Murtaza met with Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz to discuss the province’s political situation.

According to insiders, the conference also discussed the creation of the provincial cabinet as well as other political issues.

On this occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz expressed his gratitude to the PPP leadership for their unwavering support both at the Centre and in the province.

It has been learned that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has intended to establish a small cabinet in Punjab in two parts, as well as to give Jahangir Tareen’s group the seat of speaker of the Punjab Assembly.

In accordance with sources, the PML-N has chosen to keep provincial ministers who had done well during its previous tenure in the Punjab cabinet and to provide them with the same portfolios as they had previously.

Among the ministerial positions announced were Malik Ahmed Khan for the law ministry, Rana Mashood for the education ministry, Khawaja Salman Rafique, and Khawaja Imran Nazir for the health ministry, Bilal Yasin for the food ministry, and Saiful Malook Khokhar and Mian Mujtaba Shuja, according to the sources.

According to PPP sources, Ali Haider Gilani and Syed Hasan Murtaza be given ministerial portfolios, while independent candidate Jugnu Mohsin will also be given a ministry in the Punjab cabinet, which will be chaired by Hamza Shahbaz, according to sources.
