Taron Egerton to star in a Christmas time TSA thriller from director Jaume Collet-Serra

Nothing says Christmas time thriller like a crowded airport and a suspicious package. Netflix and Amblin are joining forces for Carry On, an upcoming feature film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle CruiseBlack Adam) and starring Taron Egerton (RocketmanKingsman: The Golden Circle)TJ Fixman wrote the script’s first draft, with Michael Green responsible for the most recent polish. Dylan Clark (The Batman) is producing. Carry On is the first production of the overall deal between Netflix and Amblin.

Carry On revolves around Ethan Kopek (Egerton), a young TSA agent who gets blackmailed by a mysterious traveler to let a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Day flight. Ho ho ho, boy! So much for the friendly skies, eh? Allowing a package like that to be loaded onto a crowded plane is a sure-fire way to get yourself onto Santa’s Naughty List. Please don’t do it, Ethan!

Amblin’s President of Production, Holly Bario, will oversee the project on behalf of the studio. Brian Williams will executive produce through Dylan Clark Productions alongside Scott Greenberg and Seth William Meier.

Collet-Serra’s Black Adam made a splash at Comic-Con last weekend, with Dwayne Johnson promising big things for fans looking forward to the film. Collet-Serra is no stranger to action thrillers after directing films like Non Stop and Unforgettable. While Jungle Cruise and Black Adam are significant tentpole projects, Carry On is something of a return to the filmmaker’s roots.

What do you think about the plot for Carry On? If you were a TSA agent, do you think you could be bought to let a mysterious package slide through security? Everyone has their price, right? Perhaps not. I would rat on the person trying to make the deal so fast that their head would spin.

I look forward to seeing how Ethan deals with this terrifying situation when Carry On touches down.
