- Muscle and back pain
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Respiratory problems (e.g. sore throat, nasal congestion, or cough)
- Rashes in area or near the genitals (penis, testicles, labia, and vagina) or anus (butthole) but could also be on other regions like hands, feet, chest, face, or mouth. Rash may look like pimples or blisters and may be painful or itchy.
These symptoms can varry from one person to other as in some cases, the rash appears first, then the accompanying symptoms. While some people only get a rash, the majority of monkeypox patient develop rash. And some have rash that appears before (or independently of) other symptoms.
