Demi Lovato admits she is no longer using ‘they/them’ as her pronouns revealing she has reverted to ‘she/her’: ‘I’m such a fluid person’
Welp, Demi Lovato is taking a few steps back: During an appearance on Spout Podcast, the singer shared that she has reverted to she/her pronouns… Just more than a year after coming out as non-binary and adopting they/them pronouns.
The actress explained that she decided to go back after recently “feeling more feminine.” “I’ve actually adopted the pronouns of she/her again with me. So for me, I’m such a fluid person that I don’t really and I don’t find that I am… I felt like, especially last year, my energy was balanced and my masculine and feminine energy so that when I was faced with the choice of walking into a bathroom and it said, women and men, I didn’t feel like there was a bathroom for me because I didn’t feel necessarily like a woman,” she shared.
She went on to say, “I didn’t feel like a man. I just felt like a human. And that’s what they/them is about. For me, it’s just about like feeling human at your core.”
Further speaking on the topic, Demi added, “Recently I’ve been feeling more feminine, and so I’ve adopted she/her again. But I think what’s important is, like, nobody’s perfect. Everyone messes up pronouns at some point, and especially when people are learning, it’s just all about respect.”
Now, despite that, on her Instagram bio, Demi states her pronouns as “they/them/she/her.”

As we previously reported, Demi first came out as nonbinary last year. She made a video post announcing the news. She said at the time:
“Over the past year-and-a-half I’ve been doing some healing and self-reflective work, and through this work, I’ve had the revelation that I identify as non-binary. With that said, I’ll be officially changing my pronouns to they/them. I feel that this best represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression and allows me to feel most authentic and true to the person I both know I am and still am discovering.” She added, “I want to make it clear I’m still learning and coming into myself – I don’t claim to be an expert or a spokesperson.”
