After years of delays due to bizarre circumstances, James Gunn is finally bringing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to the big screen next year. The long-awaited third standalone chapter in the team’s story looks to conclude the arc that began in the 2014 origin film and based on the exclusive San Diego Comic-Con footage, will be an emotional journey for the characters. Along with the core team, we will be seeing the return of other supporting characters, including Martinex, who was played by Smallville star Michael Rosenbaum.
Michael Rosenbaum, who is most-recognized by comic book fans for his role as Lex Luthor in Smallville, may have revealed that he is returning to the MCU for the first time since 2017, when he appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Rosenbaum tweeted the following, teasing his appearance in the trailer that screened at San Diego Comic-Con:
The film is written and directed by James Gunn and in addition to Maria Bakalova, stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji and Maria Bakalova.
