Folie À Deux’ Might Center On Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn

A new rumor suggests that Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn will be the main focus in Joker: Folie á Deux.

Filming on Joker: Folie á Deux is expected to begin later this year in Los Angeles. Early reports surrounding the project reveal that it will mostly take place inside Arkham State Hospital and feature a musical element to the story. Lady Gaga is the biggest casting addition to the film, and it’s all but confirmed that she will play Harley Quinn in the sequel.

Another interesting detail about Joker: Folie á Deux recently came from The Weekly Planet podcast’s “Hot Scoop or Shot of Poop” segment. In the latest episode, host James Clement claims the Joker sequel takes place from the perspective of Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn instead of Joaquin Pheonix’s Arthur Fleck:

“Apparently, Joker 2 isn’t so much a Joker movie, it’s a Harley Quinn… It’s from Harley Quinn’s perspective. And the reason it’s a musical is because that’s how she perceives her relationship with Joker.”

Here is the official synopsis for the first Joker film:

Director Todd Phillips’ “Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone fictional story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck, who is indelibly portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix, is of a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night…but finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.

Directed by Todd Phillips from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.

Joker: Folie á Deux hits theaters on October 4, 2024. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming sequel, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s youtube channel for more original video content.
