Don Cheadle Comments On His MCU Commitment As War Machine

Longtime MCU member Don Cheadle opened up about how long he is committed to the War Machine role.

Don Cheadle has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as War Machine since Iron Man 2. The actor has gone on to appear in numerous MCU films and is one of the few characters from the early days of Phase One still around in the Multiverse Saga. Cheadle recently revealed that his contract with Marvel is up, but has two major projects on the way with Secret Invasion and Armor Wars.

“Boom, You Looking For This?”

Based on a recent interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, it seems Don Cheadle will continue to play War Machine as long as the stories interest him:

“I just kinda take it as it lies, you know what I mean? This is something that was pitched to me, was something they wanted to do, and it was interesting and sounded fun. An opportunity to actually do more with this character. So yeah, I’m in. You know, at this point… we know there’s going to be more opportunities to do it, nobody’s [twisting] anybody’s arm. It’s like, does this sound like something that would be fun? Is this something where we could really do something that is exciting and is interesting? Cause if not, we don’t need to show up.”

Here is the synopsis for Secret Invasion:

“Secret Invasion” is a newly announced series heading to Disney+ that stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos—characters who first met in “Captain Marvel.” The crossover event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.

The series is created by Kyle Bradstreet and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Don Cheadle, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Killian Scott, Christopher McDonald, and Carmen Ejogo.

Secret Invasion is set to premiere on Disney Plus in spring 2023.  Stay tuned for all the latest news on Don Cheadle’s MCU future as War Machine, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s youtube channel for more original video content.
