Cardi B tweeted that she wants to ‘smokin cigarettees and eating biscuits’ with late Princess Margaret.

Prior to that, Cardi told her 26 million Twitter followers that she had watched 13 episodes of the British drama so far. “Y’all wanna talk about The Crown?” she first wrote. When a fan asked for her opinion on the relationship between the then-Prince Charles and Camilla, which is a key storyline in the latest season, she replied, “I haven’t gotten there yet… I’m on episode 13 when Prince Phillip comes back and Queen Elizabeth ain’t gave him no p***y.”

The fifth season “The Crown” aired on 9 November, and stars Imelda Staunton as the Queen and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret. In the first two seasons, the role of the late royal, who passed away in February 2002 at the age of 71 after four strokes, was played by Vanessa Kirby and later Helena Bonham Carter for season three and four.

The new season of the British drama is currently facing backlash for opting to dramatize traumatic moments from Diana’s final years, including her notorious 1995 interview with Martin Bashir and the Paris car crash that precipitated her untimely death in 1997.

In a new interview with British Vogue, Elizabeth Debicki, who portrays Diana, told how she was “overwhelmed” with the prospect of taking on the character. “I think in the very beginning that did overwhelm me, the idea of this kind of collective [of Diana disciples] out there,” she told the publication, “It’s a trap, right? A swampy quagmire. So, I would stand over the kitchen sink and say, ‘I cannot do this.’ ”

Elsewhere during the chat, Elizabeth also reflected on wearing Diana’s iconic black “revenge dress,” which she says she felt was “super risque” for the time. She explained, “It was pressure! It’s a complex dress. I let the fittings happen around me while I thought about what the dress meant. Why this dress? She’d had it for two or three years. It was super risque at the time.”

”She was claiming the space. The way she walked out of that car, the luminosity, the strength of her as that car door opened, she was so fast and so forward. It’s an extraordinary thing to watch,” Elizabeth shared. “To decide what you’re saying about yourself through fashion… it was a currency. An incredibly powerful currency.”
