First Look Revealed On Promo Poster

Batman: Caped Crusader is a new series by Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves that’s set to bring Bruce Wayne back into the World of animation. A first look at the series has been revealed by Amazon.

Batman: Caped Crusader is meant to serve as a spiritual successor to the hit Batman: The Animated Series. Despite being helmed by Bruce Timm, one of the creators of the original series, the show has hit a number of snags in recent months. Most of this comes from the series being cancelled by HBO Max late last year, forcing Timm, Matt Reeves and J.J. Abrams to shop the show around to other networks, eventually landing a two season order on Amazon Prime Video. While there hasn’t been much in the way of updates, fans finally got their first look at a promo poster for the show a few days ago at an Amazon event:

The poster seems to suggest that the show will also be animated in a similar way to Batman: The Animated Series. The photo also features promo photos for Merry Little Batman, a Christmas special starring a young Damian taking up the role of the Caped Crusader to protect his home during the holidays, and Bat-Family, a series following the events of the special that is meant to show the everyday life of Bruce Wayne and his family.

What to expect from the new animated Batman series

Batman: Caped Crusader is created by a powerhouse trio of Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves. Timm is a veteran of the Batman franchise, having previously worked on Batman: The Animated Series, which is widely considered to be one of the best animated shows of all time. Abrams and Reeves are also no strangers to the World of superheroes due to their work on the Star Wars sequel trilogy and The Batman, respectively.

Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves said the following about Amazon’s Batman: Caped Crusader acquisition: “We are beyond excited to be working together to bring this character back, to tell engrossing new stories in Gotham City. The series will be thrilling, cinematic and evocative of Batman’s noir roots, while diving deeper into the psychology of these iconic characters. We cannot wait to share this new world.”

The decision to sell Caped Crusader to Amazon is part of a wider trend in the entertainment industry, as studios and production companies look for new ways to monetize their content. For Amazon, the acquisition of Caped Crusader is a major coup, demonstrating the company’s commitment to investing in original content and competing with other streaming platforms.
