In a recent interview with Meltdown of Detroit’s WRIF radio station, Jacoby Shaddix, the lead vocalist of Papa Roach, spoke about the band’s record company and future plans. He revealed they had ideas about expanding their label.
The musician outlined the success they achieved with their 2022 album by getting it three number-one spots on rock radio. He explained how the triumph they experienced with ‘Ego Trip,’ the album released under their own record company, sparked enthusiasm among the band members.
Moreover, the frontman shared their interest in bringing other bands under their label. However, he emphasized that the band’s immediate plan was to concentrate on Papa Roach and to initiate this expansion when the time was right.
His words on the matter read:
“We run our own record company as well, and we just had a great run on this album. ‘Ego Trip’ got three Number Ones on rock radio, our maiden voyage as a record company for Papa Roach. So that’s really exciting for us as well.
At one point or another, we’re gonna sign [another] band [to our label]; that’s gonna be something that we do. But I think for us right now, we’re gonna focus on Papa Roach another cycle and build the infrastructure, and then it’s, like, ‘All right, here we go. We’ve tested this thing out with our band for a while… So what’s the next phase?’ It’s exciting. That’s what we’re finding out.”
The band has recently announced the digital deluxe edition of ‘Ego Trip,’ along with the release date for the standard edition of the album on vinyl. This 20-track digital deluxe edition will include remixed versions of songs from the original record, as well as new tracks.
