Meet Robert De Niro’s newborn.
The actor shared his one-month-old daughter Gia Virginia Chin-De Niro’s name and sex with US TV host Gayle King on Thursday, three days after revealing her arrival.
On breakfast show CBS Mornings King said Gia was born on April 6. The infant weighed 3.6 kilos.
King told viewers that, according to De Niro, the 79-year-old’s seventh baby was “planned” with partner Tiffany Chen, reports the New York Post’s Page Six section.
“They both wanted this baby,” she explained. “They’re over the moon. She was brought here in love. He’s very psyched about it”.
De Niro dished to entertainment show ET Canada on Monday when the outlet stated he had six kids — daughter Drena, 51, son Raphael, 46, twin sons Aaron and Julian, 27, son Elliot, 25, and daughter Helen, 11.
The Taxi Driver star, who shares two children each with exes Diahnne Abbott, Toukie Smith and Grace Hightower, corrected the reporter, saying he “just had a[nother] baby.”
His spokesman confirmed the news to the New York Post the following day.
While D eNiro didn’t address the identity of the child’s mother at the time, he was photographed out to dinner with visibly pregnant Ms Chen in March 2023.
The couple have been romantically linked since they were spotted holding hands on a France trip in 2021, three years after his and Ms Hightower’s divorce.
The duo have a “sweet” relationship, DeNiro’s About My Father co-star Kim Catrall told entertainment site Extra at the movie’s premiere Tuesday.
“His significant other, Tiffany is such a beautiful woman,” the Sex and the City star gushed. “I’m happy for both of them.”
That same evening, De Niro told the New York Post that his latest addition was not a surprise, asking, “How could you not plan that kind of thing?”
