On March 24, the Korean media outlet, OSEN, reported that SEVENTEEN is gearing up to drop an English song in April. This digital single is said to serve as a pre-release that will lead up to the group’s comeback in May.

The report also stated that the new track will later be included in the forthcoming album. This will be a gift to Global fans.

Moreover, the upcoming digital single will be SEVENTEEN’s first-ever English song as a group. In the past, only the band’s sub-units have released tracks sung in the said language.

Pledis entertainment has not released an official statement to respond to the news, as of this writing.

While it is still not confirmed, CARATs (SEVENTEEN’s fandom) are already expressing their excitement on social media. In fact, the keyword “seventeen” is currently trending on Twitter. Many fans talked about the group’s first English song together.

Regarding SEVENTEEN’s May comeback, Pledis previously announced that the K-pop act will release their fourth full-length album. This will be their first album in seven months since their ninth EP “Attacca” arrived in October 2021.

Additionally, it will be SEVENTEEN’s first full album in two years and eight months since “An Ode” came out in September 2019.

SEVENTEEN Members Diagnosed With and Recovered From COVID-19 Prior to May Comeback

In other news, most SEVENTEEN members had tested positive for COVID-19 but are now fully recovered.

From Feb. 12 to March 8, nine members of the boy group were diagnosed with the virus. They are Hoshi, S.Coups, Vernon, Wonwoo, Seungkwan, The8, DK, Jun, and Joshua.

The first to receive a positive result for coronavirus is Vernon. He was then followed by Hoshi, S.Coups, DK, Seungkwan, The8, and the last two members were Jun and Joshua. All of them administered self-treatment at their respective homes to prevent any further spread of the virus.

In the past few weeks, the members started to recover from COVID-19. The latest members to recover were Joshua and Jun on March 14.

The SEVENTEEN members’ recovery is just in time for their sixth fan meeting, called “2022 SVT 6TH FAN MEETING ‘SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND.’” It is set to take place in Seoul, South Korea for three consecutive days, from March 25 to 27.

SEVENTEEN’s 6th Fan Meeting

The venue for the event will be the Jamsil Auxiliary Stadium. While the first two fan meetings will only have in-person audience members, the third one will come with online streaming to let the Global fans participate.

The offline fan meetings are limited to Korean citizens and foreigners living in the country due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

SEVENTEEN’s “2022 SVT 6TH FAN MEETING ‘SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND’” follows the group’s offline and online fanmeet in August of last year. This drew more than 98,000 online viewers around the world.
