The Heath Ledger Joker’s introductory scene from The Dark Knight is etched in fans’ memory. A back shot of a man standing with a mask, as he looks onto the bank they’re set to rob. The first trailer of Faisal Qureshi’s upcoming directorial, Money Back Guarantee, starts with an eerily similar sequence.
A group of individuals, led by Mikaal Zulfiqar, is all set to take back what – according to them – is rightfully theirs as they go on a heist.
The group comprises, Mikaal alongside Kiran Malik, Mani, Gohar Rasheed and Shayan Khan among others. Fawad Khan, Wasim Akram and Shaniera Akram among others make appearances meanwhile we also see Jan Rambo, Hina Dilpazeer, Ayesha Omar and Javed Sheikh.
The narrator, while trying to justify the heist could be heard saying, “Till now we’ve been looted, lied to and murdered. But now we will take back what’s ours by looting, lying and killing. Because we firmly believe that real power isn’t the pen, gun, wealth or political party. But the real power is — hmm, sorry, real power is wealth. If you’re afraid, you will die. If you attack, you will prosper and get ahead in life.”
Makers haven’t exactly broken their silence over MGB, keeping most details well under wraps. According to Gulf News, Wasim has a small but pivotal role in the film — he plays nemesis to Fawad’s hero. A bank robbery is also part of the plot and interestingly, the female actors won’t be playing the love interest to any of the male leads.
“There are other important cameos to speak of — for instance, George Fulton, senior actor Mustafa Qureshi, and wheelchair-bound artist and activist Muniba Mazari. Mimicry artist Shafaat Ali is also part of the ensemble,” added the outlet.
